If you bought a home, now is the time to apply for the School Tax Relief Credit (STAR). If you haven’t applied before, you can register now, and save money! It’s easy to do and takes only a few minutes.
- Basic STAR is based on $30,000 less than the assessed value of the home
- Apply online at the website below, or call 518.457.2036
- Houses, Condos, coops and owner occupied multifamily properties are eligible
- Income limitations are $500,000 or less for the basic STAR credit, $250,000 or less for the STAR exemption
- Enhanced STAR is for homeowners 65 years or older with an annual income under $107,300
